Jana Stratton - Founder + Small Business Strategist
I've spent almost 20 years working alongside small business owners and founders across Northern Colorado, and I kept seeing the same thing happen. Someone builds something they genuinely love, works incredibly hard to grow it — and then goes home and works just as hard on it, often on the parts they never wanted to do in the first place. Marketing. Systems. Hiring. The stuff that keeps a business running but has nothing to do with why they started it.
That's why I started Verve Works.
I don't think the answer is always "hire more people." Hiring is expensive, slow, and hard to get right — and a lot of business owners bring someone on before they actually need a full-time employee, just because they don't know there's another option. Often, what a growing business really needs is a fractional consultant: someone who can step in at the strategic level, free up the owner's time, and actually move revenue forward, without the overhead of a full-time hire.
That's the role I play. My background spans operations, marketing, website and SEO strategy, social media, email marketing, and hiring — which means I can look at a business holistically and tell you what's actually the bottleneck, instead of just the part I happen to specialize in. Sometimes that's a messy website. Sometimes it's the fact that there's no system capturing leads at all. Sometimes it's simply that the owner hasn't taken a real day off in a year, and that's the real problem worth solving first.
If that sounds like where you're at, I'd love to talk.
Maj-Lis Delgado - Brand, Growth & Business Strategist
Maj-Lis Delgado is a brand and business strategist with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations find clarity, build meaningful brands, and turn strategy into action. Her career spans executive leadership, sales and marketing, brand development, channel strategy, customer experience, and entrepreneurship across industries ranging from consumer products and real estate to wellness and professional services. In addition to leading high-performing teams and advising businesses through periods of growth and change, Maj-Lis has spent more than a decade as a small-business owner—giving her a firsthand understanding of the realities behind the strategy.
Her Philosophy
Maj-Lis believes the best strategy starts with understanding what is actually happening, not what an organization assumes is happening. Her approach begins with curiosity: listening to customers, employees and leaders; asking the questions others may not be asking; and uncovering the gap between how a business sees itself and how it is experienced by the people it serves.
From there, she helps businesses simplify the complex and identify the few things that will create meaningful movement. She believes brand is far more than marketing—it is the cumulative experience a company creates through its people, products, communication and decisions. The strongest businesses align all of those pieces around a clear purpose and then have the discipline to bring that strategy to life.
Her consulting style is collaborative, candid and deeply practical. Maj-Lis doesn't believe in creating strategy that lives in a presentation. She works alongside leaders and teams to build ideas that can actually be implemented, measured and sustained—because the goal isn't simply to make a business look better. It's to help it become better.
